Dodital Lake Trekking Route, Itinerary, Travel Tips.

Dodital Trek is one of the largest lakes in Uttarakhand.


Dodital Trek is the most famous trek in Uttarakhand India and Many people come from abroad to visit this place. This lake is around 1.5 km big. The Fish brought by an English trekker was released in 1971. This has now been thousands.


The most important thing about Dodital Trek is that it is considered as the birthplace of god Ganesha. That’s why locals have been worshiping at this place for centuries. Here is a beautiful Temple which is situated opposite side of the Dodital Lake.


According to the Purans it is said that whoever prays in this pond with a sincere heart whose wishes come true. Sangamchati is the starting point of this trek; on this place, we start this trek.

We can see beautiful views on the route of Dodital. A village comes after a 4 km short walk, whose name is Agoda village. Agoda village is the last village in this area.


Dodital Trek is a Birthplace of Ganesha


Dodital trek is to the sacred freshwater beg Lake lying at an altitude of 3024 Meters in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand and it is also known as “Dhundital”.


It is believed that this is Ganesha’s birthplace and because of the presence of Ganesha’s temple, you can feel the spirituality in the environment.
